The GFA is a charity for families living in Britain, who have adopted or are in the process of adopting children from Guatemala. Our primary goal is to support internationally adopted Guatemalan children, now living in Britain, actively to keep a connection with and understand their roots and Guatemalan culture. We are also happy to help, with our own experiences, those in the process of Guatemalan adoption.
Visting BPD
The BPD staff in Chimaltenango are very keen to take visitors to see BPD projects because they see this as an important aspect of raising awareness for the work they are doing.
They are very happy to take GFA members on visits when they are over in Guatemala.
They also always welcome any donations people can take over. Recently, they have asked for donations of sweaters for the children in the mountain villages. They also have a need for educational toys for preschool-aged children.
Donated items can be picked up from hotels in Antigua by prior arrangement.
If you would like to visit a BPD project or take out a donation for BPD, please contact Susan Slater, the US Co-ordinator, in the first instance, and she will provide you with the information you need and/or put you in touch with the relevant people in Guatemala. Susan can be contacted at the following email address:
